I think if the American public would choose an overall healthier lifestyle instead of living a life of excess and attempting to "wish away" their problems (which results from their own bad decisions) on January 1st, we wouldn't be the fattest country on Earth. I'm saying don't wait until January 1st to make a resolution to "get healthy", instead make more long term choices that are healthy. Don't eat bad throughout the year and go on a short term diet to lose the weight, try eating good throughout the year, and you won't have to make such bold decisions later on. There's nothing genetically wrong that makes the people in the USA this way, it is their lifestyle choices... choices that they make the other 364 days of the year. If you make prudent decisions throughout the year, you won't be faced with a dilemma of what to do on January 1st.
